Company Profile

St. Luke's Health System

Company Overview

As the only Idaho-based, not-for-profit health system, St. Luke’s is a vital part of the communities we serve, with local physicians and boards who further our organization’s mission “To improve the health of people in our region.” Working together, we share resources, skills, and knowledge to provide the best possible care at each of our hospitals, clinics, and centers.

St. Luke’s is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, with prestigious awards and designations reflecting the exceptional care that's synonymous with the St. Luke's name.

Company History

Since its founding in 1902 by the Rt. Rev. James B. Funsten, St. Luke’s has been committed to serving the needs of a growing region. Over the years, the community has responded with a strong, local commitment to the medical center. As the demand for healthcare has grown, so has the scope of St. Luke’s services. Once a simple, six-bed hospital, St. Luke’s Health System is now Idaho’s largest healthcare provider, with seven full-service hospitals, a children's hospital, and more than 100 outpatient treatment facilities and clinics. With 1,329 physicians on our medical staff and 11,981 employees, we serve more than 600,000 patients each year from throughout Idaho and the six adjoining states.

To help enhance medical services for people in our outlying communities, St. Luke’s has forged a variety of partnerships and affiliations with other health care facilities in our region, providing assistance with everything from administrative duties to onsite clinical care.
